Are your parts getting clean?

Do you find that your parts are not getting as clean as they once did? Check and adjust the following items to maximum the cleaning efficiency of your MART Parts Washer.

Power Blast Drive LinkagePower Blast Manifold The PBM pivots on its vertical axis, driven by two cranks, a linkage and a gear motor. The drive oscillates the Manifold back and forth every ten seconds, throughout the wash cycle.  The movement of the Manifold is not synchronized to the speed of the turntable so that the wash load is blasted from a unique angle each time it passes the nozzles. Verify that your PBM is oscillating with this simple test. During a wash cycle, carefully watch the wash manifold shaft on top of your machine to make sure it is rotating.

Power WasherTurntable Drive Turntable Rotation The turntable is mounted on a support arm on the washer door. During the cleaning cycle the turntable is rotated by the turntable drive assembly that controls its speed. The drive assembly has a clutch to allow table slippage if the wash load shifts and jams the turntable. To achieve optimum cleaning, it is critical that the turntable rotates during the wash cycle. To check, make sure that the lower part of the turntable drive shaft below the clutch is turning during a wash cycle.

Wash nozzles  One of the most common factors resulting in poorStainless Steel Wash Nozzle cleaning results can be traced to wash nozzle wear.  Nozzle wear not only affects cleaning results but it can also cause overloading of the pump motors.  Even though the opening diameter of each nozzle is larger than the openings in the pump suction filter, nozzles can still get clogged and need to be cleaned regularly.  The PBM nozzle orientation is engineered to allow each nozzle to blast on its own plane and not interfere with the blast from other nozzles.  This ensures that virtually all of the blasting force reaches the parts.  To inspect your nozzles do three things. First, inspect the nozzles and make sure that they are open and clean.  Second, during a wash cycle measure your pump amp draw.  If the pump system is drawing more amps than the full amp load stamped on the pump motor name plate, or if you are experiencing nuisance tripping of your pump motor overloads, replace the nozzles with a new set of the same size and type.  Nozzles are available from MART Tech Services.  Third, align the “V” slot in each nozzle with the punch marks on the PBM as shown on the photograph above.
